UIW Journal
It’s that time of year again: to begin planning your summer
writing projects! So here’s an opportunity to do just that.
As many of you know, Phil Lampe and Julie Miller will be editing
the UIW Journal again this year. The topic for the 2003 edition
is “Putting Mission into Practice.” We feel this is a timely
topic, particularly in light of the upcoming SACS review as well
as the ongoing effort by the CCVI’s, to encourage that all faculty
and employees take up the UIW mission in a personal manner.
We already have tentative commitments by several people to address
the following topics:
- The founding of the mission and subsequent changes to it
through history
- The theological basis for the mission
- Catholic social teachings and the mission
- The mission and the Catholic intellectual tradition
- Challenges for UIW in light of the mission
If you are interested in exploring any of these ideas, please
contact Julie Miller @283-5062 or Phil Lampe @829-3983.
The deadline for submitting is August 15th.

“Thanks and Farewell”
Friends came by to say their farewells to Fr. Michael Cannon.
Fr. Cannon left UIW to take a position in parish work. The entire
Incarnate Word Community expresses its gratitude for his services
these past two years.

Good Luck. We Will Miss Fr. Cannon.
