June 15: Centering Prayer Retreat Experience Scripture Meditation
and Centering Prayer in the context of a retreat from the noise
of daily life. Lunch on your own within walking distance or
bring your lunch and enjoy the peaceful setting of the Incarnate

16: The Way of the Shaman Basic Workshop The Shamanic Journey,
Power and Healing During this experiental workshop, participants
are introduced to core shamanism, the universal methods of the shaman
to enter non-ordinary reality for problem solving, well-being, and
healing. Presented by: Dr. Julia A. Darnell The Center for
Spirituality and the Arts 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Cost: $170 For

A Special Gift
 
The Incarnate Word Community was treated with a
special gift from Dennis & Sandra Slattery. Their son, Stephen
graduated on May 11 and they wrote: “His experience at the school
has been overwhelmingly positive. He has enjoyed and been challenged
by his classes, been nurtured by many of his professors and feels
very good about the depth and breadth of his education at Incarnate
Word. As a token of appreciation for all that the school has given
our son as well as our own deep affection for the institution,
we would like to donate to the library The Collected Works of
Carl Gustav Jung.”
The collected works consist of 20 volumes, “our
hope is that these volumes will be an asset not only to students
in Psychology and Sociology but students in the Sciences, the
Humanities and Theology,” said Dennis & Sandra Slattery. Please
join the library staff in thanking the Slattery Family.

Web Workshop
WHAT: The Incarnate Word Community is invited
to a workshop on producing UIW web pages.
WHEN: Friday, June 14 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
WHERE: the Joyce Building’s Room 236.
This session, co-sponsored by the offices of Instructional Technology
and Web Development, will be well suited for both novices and
those with web page design experience. The topics covered will
be Microsoft FrontPage, and also the Macromedia Dreamweaver program
as a design tool.
There is no charge for the workshop, so please plan on joining
us; lunch will be provided that day. You may register via e-mail

Senior Gifts
 
The Senior class of ‘02 from St. Anthony Catholic
High School and Incarnate Word High School each delivered special
gifts to the schools. Left: St. Anthony planted trees on
their campus. Right: IWHS purchased new chairs that are
currently being utilized in the conference room.

Rest In Peace
Sister Clare Eileen Craddock, C.C.V.I., entered into eternal life
on Wednesday, May 22, 2002 at Christus Santa Rosa Hospital in San
Antonio, TX. A native of Lake Charles, LA, she had been a member of
the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word since August, 1938.
Sister Clare Eileen will always be remembered for her years of
faithful and devoted service to her C.C.V.I. Sisters, for her love
and devotion to her family and her service to the Church in the
field of education.
Our condolences go out to the family and friends. Our thoughts
and prayers are with you. |
