The UIW Richard and Janet Cervera Wellness Center and Ann Barshop Natatorium offer monthly membership with no contracts.
The UIW Richard and Janet Cervera Wellness Center and Ann Barshop Natatorium grants access to students/facility/staff when UIW ID cards are presented. For students, in most cases access is granted 24 hours to 48 hours after class registration. If you do not valid, entry to the facility will not be granted, please contact the registrar’s office. For staff and faculty, employees must be under current contract. If you do not valid, entry will not be granted, please contact Human Resources.
The UIW Richard and Janet Cervera Wellness Center and Ann Barshop Natatorium does not grant St. Anthony’s or Incarnate Word High School Students access to the facilities unless the student is currently enrolled in Senior Connection or Boarding Program. If a high school student is not enrolled in one of the programs above then a high school student qualifies for a monthly membership with an educational discount.
The UIW Richard and Janet Cervera Wellness Center and Ann Barshop Natatorium offer a discounted rate to past graduates of UIW. Unfortunately we do not offer this membership to graduates of the high schools. All alumni must present their alumni card, please contact the Alumni Office to obtain a card.
The UIW Richard and Janet Cervera Wellness Center and Ann Barshop Natatorium offer a discount rate to pre-approved companies with a minimum of 5 active members. A corporate employee must show proof of employment. Proof of employment may be in the following forms: business card, paycheck stub, or employee ID card. A corporate membership rate cannot be utilized until a company has 5 active members and has been approved by the Membership Coordinator. If at the time of a corporate membership audit a corporation has less than 5 active members, all corporate employees rates will return to standard membership rates.
The UIW Richard and Janet Cervera Wellness Center and Ann Barshop Natatorium offer membership to educators, please bring proof of employment.
UIW Richard and Janet Cervera Wellness Center and Ann Barshop Natatorium offers membership discounts to current military, San Antonio Police Department and San Antonio Fire Department. Please bring proof of employment.
Family memberships include primary account holder, spouse, and up to 3 children between the ages of 6 and 18 that are the legal dependents of the primary account holder from one household. A Wellness Center wavier must be agreed to by an applicant and parent/legal guardian if under age 18.
The Wellness Center facilities follow the Internal Revenue service’s definition of a dependent , a person may claim a tax exemption for a dependent who has a certain relationship to the taxpayer, such as a son or daughter, brother or sister, mother or father, etc.
Children under the age of 6 are not eligible for Wellness Center memberships. Minors age 6 to 12 must be directly supervised by a parent/legal guardian in all areas of the UIW Richard and Jane Cervera Wellness Center and/or Ann Barshop Natatorium. Minors age 13 to 15 must be accompanied by a parent/legal guardian while in the UIW Richard and Jane Cervera Wellness Center and/or Natatorium. Individual Memberships are reserved for applicants 16 years of age or older.
The UIW Richard and Janet Cervera Wellness Center and Ann Barshop Natatorium are based on a monthly/annual membership with no contracts, therefore “Day Passes” or “Guest Passes” are not allowed.
UIW Richard and Janet Cervera Wellness Center and Ann Barshop Natatorium provide lockers for members to use only while working out in the gym. You should always use a lock to protect your property. Do not leave any valuable property in a locker at any time. UIW Richard and Jane Cervera Wellness Center and Ann Barshop Natatorium is not responsible for any theft of or damage to your property. UIW Richard and Jane Cervera Wellness Center and Ann Barshop Natatorium reserves the right to cut locks when locks are left over night.
Cutoffs, denim, thongs, see-through swimsuits, street clothes, or anything that does not let a person appear appropriate according to the University’s mission will not be allowed.
The Wellness Center asks that patrons conduct themselves in a proper fashion and treat others in a respectful manner. Foul language or outburst will be not tolerated.
The Wellness Center is a private facility and reserves the right to refuse service to any patron who does not follow the policies. A patron can be removed from the facility at the discretion of the Director of Sports and Wellness, Scott LeBlanc. The director will determine the length of the suspension or possible termination of the patron.
