The Coates Theatre is a surprisingly intimate 270-seat proscenium arch theatre that serves as a performance space and as an exciting place to creatively apply techniques and principles learned in theatre department courses.
Maureen Halligan-Ronald Ibbs Theatre and Dance Center
The Maureen Halligan-Ronald Ibbs Theater and Dance Center contains the Cheever Downstage Theatre, a studio theatre that seats 75-100 patrons depending upon the stage and audience configuration chosen for the production. The Cheever provides students a performance space that is intimate and incredibly flexible.
The UIW Theatre Department is very well recognized and receives much acclaim. The Theatre department holds 4 productions each year, and each UIW student is allowed one free ticket for each show.
