In Remembrance

"To be remembered by the institution that he loved and was so proud of is the highest honor he could have," said Carol O'Malley, Dennis' wife.s

The University of the Incarnate Word suffered great sorrow on December 4, as Dennis O'Malley, one of our community's most beloved friends, went to his eternal rest.

In honor of his memory, the University in January dedicated the Dennis O'Malley Amphitheatre in the Gorman Business and Education Center. A photographic portrait of Mr. O'Malley, who served as Vice Chairman of the UIW Board of Trustees until his untimely death, hangs beside a plaque that will give students an opportunity to learn about Mr. O'Malley and what he meant to Incarnate Word and San Antonio through his many philanthropic deeds.

" To be remembered by the institution that he loved and was so proud of is the highest honor he could have," said Carol O'Malley, Dennis' wife, in an interview with La Prensa de San Antonio.

The O'Malley's first began their work with the University by sponsoring the annual Light the Way event, which was then in its infancy. They continued working with the University through a variety of ways, including contributing to numerous scholarship funds.

Mr. O'Malley's presence will live in the hearts of current and future members of our community as a symbol of those who have selflessly helped the University achieve the success that it enjoys today.
