Total enrollment for the fall semester is 7,708, an increase of about 7.6 percent from 2009. UIW has experienced record-breaking enrollment for 24 of the past 25 years, with its enrollment more than doubling since 2000. UIW also set a new record for first-time full-time freshmen at 872, an increase of 164 from last year.

 $2.5 million grant approved – In October, the Department of Education approved UIW’s application to help promote graduate opportunities for Hispanics. The grant will provide $2,586,202 over five years.
