Louise King Fournelle, Santa Rosa School 28, served at the Nix Hospital in   San Antonio and enlisted in the Army   Nurse Corps after Pearl Harbor, serving   in Northern Africa and Europe. Louise   and her late husband, Harold, are being   honored by their two sons, John and   Joe, with the Louise and Harold   Fournelle Nursing Scholarship   endow ment at the Kuskokwim   Community Campus of the University of   Alaska at Bethel. Located in one of the   two poorest census districts in the United   States, the KCC has LPN and CAN programs and just started an RN program. Sister Colette Ross, CCVI BA ’55, former faculty:

Sister Collette Ross, 74, entered into eternal life on Aug. 21 at the Incarnate Word Retirement Community, San Antonio. A native of County Kerry, Ireland, Sister Collette (Mary Philomena) was born Aug. 22, 1929 to Anthony and Mary (Kissane) Ross. She entered   the Congregation of the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word at   Dunmore, County Galway, Ireland on Sept. 7, 1945, professing her first vows   in 1948 and making her perpetual profession in 1953. Sister Collette devoted her life ministering to the educational needs of children throughout Texas serving in the field of library sciences. Schools she served included St. Peter Prince of the Apostles, St. Cecilia’s, St. Patrick’s, Incarnate Word   High School and Incarnate Word College (now the University of the   Incarnate Word) in San Antonio, as well as All Saints School in Fort. Worth, Our   Lady of Refuge School in Eagle Pass, and Notre Dame School in Kerrville. Sister Collette retired to the Incarnate Word Retirement Community in 1999.
