Light The Way

More than 850,000 lights illuminated the night sky at the University of Incarnate Word to kick off the 19th Annual Light The Way celebration. The campus will remain illuminated through Jan. 6, 2005.

UIW kicked off the holiday season in style at the 19th Annual Light The Way celebration. The festivities began with a ceremony at the McDermott Convocation Center at 7:30 p.m. Music was provided by the choirs of the University of the Incarnate Word, Incarnate Word High School, St. Anthony

Catholic Elementary and St. Peter Prince of the Apostles Catholic School. The St. Anthony Catholic High School jazz band also entertained the crowd. Patsy Torres was the featured entertainer.

Every year, the UIW community comes together for a Light the Way Workday, in which employees volunteer their time to help assemble strings of Christmas lights to decorate the campuses of St. Anthony Catholic High School, Incarnate Word High School and the University of the Incarnate Word.
