Board member honored with philanthropy awardNov 15th, 2010 | Category: The Back Page
The University of the Incarnate Word congratulates J. Scott Beckendorf, past UIW Development Board Chairman and a member of the university’s Board of Trustees, on his selection as Outstanding Volunteer Fundraiser by the San Antonio Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals. Each year the organization honors donors, volunteers and professionals whose gifts of time, expertise and resources contribute significantly to the quality of life in our community.
The university was proud to nominate Beckendorf in the category of Outstanding Volunteer Fundraiser, which recognizes an individual who has demonstrated leadership in fundraising campaigns. Having served as a UIW development board member for 16 years, Beckendorf has called upon many of his friends and fellow business leaders for their support of the university’s annual Swing-In Auction Party and Golf Tournament. He devotes much time, talent and treasure to charitable causes and his contagious enthusiasm and positive attitude lead others to do the same.
He will be recognized with other honorees at a luncheon on National Philanthropy Day, on Tuesday, Nov. 16.
