DSD Founding History

Delta Sigma Delta was founded at the University of the Incarnate Word on November 11, 1985 by twelve women who strived to:

  • Develop interpersonal relationships through a true sisterhood
  • Promote the development of social consciousness in the student body
  • Provide and participate in activities aimed to establish high intellectual, spiritual, cultural, and social attainment
  • Provide services for the school and community, thus encouraging a cooperative attitude with each member and instilling a deep sense of loyalty to one’s sorority
