Summer Bridge to College Program
The Summer Bridge to College Program is a week-long program typically held in July or August on the campus of the University of the Incarnate Word. All incoming freshman students accepted into the Student Success Program are eligible to attend the Summer Bridge Program at no cost to them. During your week on campus:
- You’ll get to spend a week in the dorms with all bills paid by the Student Success Program (including all meals)
- You'll meet other incoming and current SSP students
- You'll learn more about finincial aid and and how to get the optimum out of school.
- You’ll learn where everything is on campus.
- You’ll learn how to deal with procrastination so that you don't "get behind in your classes".
- You’ll learn how to manage your time so that you have time for school, family, friends, work, etc.
- You’ll learn which majors to prepare you for which jobs. (Some of these might surprise you!)
- You’ll learn how to manage the stress that comes with being a college student!

"It was a wonderful experience, I did not know how much it was going to help me until I had my first week of class. I actually helped someone who was lost on campus!"
