Mónica L. Solís-Hoefl, MS, NCC, LPC-S is the Director of Academic Support at the University of the Incarnate Word School of Osteopathic Medicine (UIW SOM). She attended Incarnate Word Academy (Houston, TX) and Texas A&M University – Kingsville earning a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Psychology. She later completed her Master of Arts at Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi in Counseling, is licensed professional counselor and supervisor in Texas, and a nationally certified counselor.
She has extensive experience in education from PK – 12 to higher education. This includes working in student affairs, career services, curriculum development, TRiO programs, financial aid, student disabilities, Head Start, and counseling. Prior to her position at UIW SOM she was the Assistant Director of Campus Life at the University of the Incarnate Word, Director of Guidance at Incarnate Word High School, taught several courses in psychology and counseling at the undergraduate and graduate level, and worked with many mental health agencies, as well as, at her own practice.
She is passionate to help students feel empowered to find their path for success.
