Michael J. Mohr, MS, DO, FAAFP
RESIDENCY FAMILY MEDICINE PROGRAM DIRECTOR, ASSISTANT PROFESSOR
Dr. Michael Mohr is a native of Indianapolis, IN. He attended Indiana University earning a B.S. in Medical Technology and a M.S. in Pathology in 1994. He then graduated from the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1998. He completed his Family Medicine Residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin- Columbia Hospital in 2001 and is Board Certified in Family Medicine.
He then moved to Denver, CO in 2001 where he was in private practice at Apex Family Medicine for 15 years. In addition to the primary care scope of practice, he was involved in the treatment of patients with HIV, hepatitis and other infectious diseases. He also integrated into his practice the prevention of HIV utilizing the Pre- Exposure Prophylaxis treatment protocol.
He is a past president of the Colorado Society of Osteopathic Medicine and served on the Board of Trustees for 10 years. He continued to be a clinical preceptor for medical students from several different medical schools during his time in Colorado.
Dr. Mohr is the Family Medicine Residency Program Director and Assistant Professor in the Department of Applied Biomedical Sciences. He is honored and excited to join the outstanding faculty at the University of the Incarnate Word School of Osteopathic Medicine.
