Lori Kels, MD, MPH
ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF PSYCHIATRY
Dr. Kels is an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry in the Department of Clinical and Applied Science Education at UIWSOM. She received her BS in marketing from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. She earned her MD from the University of Nevada and her MPH from the University of Southern California. Dr. Kels completed her residency in psychiatry at the George Washington University, where she served as chief resident. She is board certified in psychiatry.
Dr. Kels joined the faculty at the George Washington University after completing her residency training, and focused her clinical practice on the treatment of mood and anxiety disorders in women, particularly during pregnancy and the postpartum period. She has a strong interest in medical education and was honored to work with both residents and medical students while serving as Associate Director of the Psychiatry Residency Training Program. She was also involved in research on novel treatments for mood disorders.
Dr. Kels is honored to have joined the faculty at UIWSOM and to be a part of the school’s mission of lifelong learning and service.
