Amber Heck, Ph.D.
Dr. Heck is an Associate Professor in the department of Applied Biomedical Sciences. Dr. Heck is a graduate of the University of North Texas Health Science Center located in Fort Worth, Texas, where she received a PhD in Biomedical Science from the department of Cell Biology and Anatomy. Her research focused on the application of nanotechnology to the neuroprotection of retinal ganglion cells via the administration of antioxidants. Dr. Heck recently completed a Medical Education Fellowship with the International Association for Medical Science Educators and is presently a member of the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners National Faculty in the Division of Biochemistry. Her current research interests involve pre-matriculation interventions in early medical education.
