The School of Media and Design’s (SMD) 3D Animation & Game Design program (3D@UIW) provides students with the design and technical instruction essential in preparation for a career in the film, TV or videogame industries. The program uses state-of-the-art facilities, ensuring students receive the appropriate hardware and software training. Overall, the program’s primary focus is upon design and story-telling principles - the skills that truly allow students to gain and maintain employment as the industry continues to evolve and change. 3D Animation & Game Design offers a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA), considered a “professional preparatory” degree, preparing students to enter the workforce immediately upon graduation. The program is the only one in the city with consistent festival winners and a proven employment record.
