SMARRT SCHOLARSHIPS

Candidates eligible for the SMARRT scholarships must:

• Hold a Bachelor’s degree;
• Have a GPA of 2.75 or above;
• Have 9-12 hours in Mathematics or Science;
• Be interested in teaching mathematics, science, or elementary school;
• Be admitted to the Dreeben School of Education’s Teacher Education Program;
• Be an American Citizen or have permanent residence status.

If you are interested, send the following:

1. A letter of interest describing why teaching is the profession you would like to pursue;
2. Official academic transcripts from ALL institutions attended- even if one transcript reflects all college work;
3. Copy of official GRE scores with a minimum passing score of 400 (Verbal), 400 (Quantitative) and 3.5 (Analytical).
4. THEA and/or TASP scores with a minimum passing score of 230 in the math, reading and writing sections. If you are currently a certified teacher the GRE scores will be accepted in leau of THEA/TASP scores.
