Office of the Provost

Welcome to the Office of the Provost at the University of the Incarnate Word.

The role of the Provost is to be the chief executive with the responsibility to oversee the all academic programs. The Provost interacts daily with faculty and students to promote academic excellence for undergraduate, graduate and doctoral students. The Provost works primarily with the Deans of the College and Schools, who work with the faculty to shape the leadership of the institution. Based on the mission of the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word, the mission of the University of the Incarnate Word is to educate concerned and enlightened citizens through an integrated program of liberal arts and professional studies. Through the expertise of the faculty and their ongoing development we strive together to embody our mission through service and dedication to our students.

We are a diverse population of students and faculty and as a University we respect diversity in thought as well. We provide opportunities for students to understand the challenges of the global reality by interacting with students from many different countries and through opportunities to study abroad. We both support and honor the academic freedom to pursue knowledge. And, we develop our faculty members and students through unique opportunities to study and learn.
