Sasha is a proud San Antonio native and graduate of Incarnate Word High School. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Social Work from Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, OH, her Master of Science in Counseling, specializing in Marriage and Family Therapy, from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, and she is currently working on completing her Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision at The University of Texas at San Antonio. She is a Licensed Baccalaureate Social Worker and a Licensed Professional Counselor.
Sasha has spent over 10 years working in social services, including Child Protective Services, community mental health clinics and hospitals, university counseling centers, and most recently served as a mental health counselor at the Krier Juvenile Correctional Treatment Center for Bexar County Juvenile Probation.
Sasha places a high value on education and the opportunities that it can provide. She is excited to be back as a part of the Incarnate Word community and enjoys helping students navigate the personal, academic, and professional challenges of graduate school. She is thankful to be a part of their journey at the UIW School of Physical Therapy.
On her free time, Sasha enjoys cooking, woodworking in her dad’s garage, trying new restaurants, going to the movies, and cycling. She can often be found at the gym or on the road training for long-distance rides. Family is very important to her and she spends most weekends hanging out with loved ones. Sasha is very much in love her with husband (Tony), dogs (Pearl and Bernadette), and bearded dragon (Jax). She is the third generation pitmaster in her family. She bleeds silver and black.
