Dr. Kathy D. Webster joins the faculty as Assistant Dean and Chair, Pharmaceutical Sciences.
Dr. Webster graduated with a PharmD degree from University of the Pacific, Stockton, CA in 1978. She received her Ph.D. in medicinal chemistry from the University of Minnesota, School of Pharmacy, Minneapolis, MN in 1986, her thesis work focused on the development of analytical procedures and the study of mechanisms of drug metabolism.
Dr. Webster completed a Post-doctoral Fellowship with Dr. MW Anders at the University of Rochester where she was supported with a March of Dimes Fellowship and an NIEHS NRSA Fellowship.
In 1988, Dr. Webster joined the faculty at Campbell University School of Pharmacy where she developed the medicinal chemistry curriculum. She facilitated the integration of the pharmacology and medicinal chemistry courses and served as course-master and instructor in numerous modules. Dr Webster had a prominent role on the curriculum committee, the student affairs committee and two self-study committees. Dr. Webster was promoted to Associate Professor in 1995. She has received several teaching and research awards, in addition to receiving numerous research and community educational grants. While at Campbell, Dr. Webster helped start a B.S. and M.S. programs in Pharmaceutical Sciences, middle school science enrichment and wellness programs, a diabetes resource web page, a pharmaceutical analysis laboratory for small companies and compounding pharmacies, and a contract research facility.
Dr. Webster has memberships in many professional organizations including: American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy, Kappa Epsilon Pharmacy Fraternity for women, Rho Chi Pharmacy Honor Society, American Chemical Society,
Dr. Webster participated in many community activities including: a member of local school, daycare, and county advisory committees; science fair judge and Science Olympiad coach; Girl Scout leader and active church member.
Dr. Webster is married to her pharmacy school sweetheart, David Webster, and they have four children.
