Pre-Pharmacy Curriculum

The pre-pharmacy curriculum is a rigorous two-year program designed to prepare students for admission to the professional Doctor of Pharmacy program. The student-friendly atmosphere at UIW includes a liberal arts core of social sciences and the arts, combined with courses in math and the biological, physical and chemical sciences. The student completing the curriculum will have at least 71 hours of core education and science courses that are applicable to a variety of degree paths in the physical and social sciences.

Admission to the pre-pharmacy cohort is contingent to meeting all admission criteria of the institution including: appropriate high school and/or post-secondary math and science courses, class rank, GPA and SAT or ACT scores. The applicant must interview with an undergraduate admissions counselor for appropriate advisement and placement due to the limited number of available seats. Students who have not completed higher levels of math and science will be reevaluated at the end of the first semester of study for consideration into the cohort. Completion of the pre-pharmacy coursework satisfies the educational requirements for admission to the professional program at the Feik School of Pharmacy and most pharmacy schools in the United States and Canada Pre-pharmacy cohort applications are only accepted once yearly for the Fall semester and admission into the professional program is not promised or guaranteed.
