Dr. Eli G. Phillips, Jr. joins the Feik School of Pharmacy as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice.
Dr. Phillips received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Wilkes University, located in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania in 2006. He then furthered his education by earning his Juris Doctorate from Drexel University School of Law, located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 2010. He has completed concentration programs in both Health Law and Intellectual Property Law.
During his time at Drexel University School of Law, Dr. Phillips completed internships with the Drug Enforcement Administration’s Office of Chief Counsel, located in Arlington, Virginia, and the Governor’s Office of General Counsel for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, located in Harrisburg, PA, as well as with the intellectual property law firm Fish & Richardson, P.C., located in Wilmington, Delaware.
Dr. Phillips has received several awards in both pharmacy and law including the “2010 Outstanding Achievement in Health Law Concentration Award” from Drexel University School of Law. He has also been featured in national media, including an interview with USA Today regarding medication errors that occur in retail pharmacies. His interests include research and consulting on licensing and regulation of professionals, Hatch-Waxman litigation, and cases involving drugs of addiction, including prescription diversion. Additionally, Dr. Phillips continues to practice pharmacy for CVS/Pharmacy.
