Dr. K. Cauthon 2012Dr. Kimberly A. B. Cauthon is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice at Feik School of Pharmacy. She graduated with her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from St. Louis College of Pharmacy and completed a primary care pharmacy practice residency at William S. Middleton VA Medical Center, Madison, Wisconsin. After finishing her residency, Dr. Cauthon worked as a long-term care consultant pharmacist and became a certified geriatric pharmacist (CGP).  She then transitioned to Assistant Director of Experiential Education at Midwestern University College of Pharmacy-Glendale.  Following two years in the Office of Experiential Education, she moved into a Department of Pharmacy Practice faculty position. Dr. Cauthon practiced at Midwestern University Multispecialty Clinic and taught pharmacy students for five years prior to joining the faculty at University of the Incarnate Word.  She has taught pharmacy communications, over the counter products, geriatric topics, therapeutics of musculoskeletal, dermatological, and the pulmonary diseases and precepted students for ambulatory care advanced pharmacy practice experiences. Also, she is immunization certified.

Dr. Cauthon is a member of the American Pharmacists Association (APhA), the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists (ASCP), the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP), and has served as a regional councilor for the Rho Chi honor society. Her practice and research interests include primary care, geriatrics, diabetes, and teaching.
