Residency Rotations

Rotation experiences are designed to afford the UIW Pharmacotherapy Resident with a broad array of learning environments in both inpatient and outpatient settings to master the skills necessary to excel as a clinical specialist or faculty member. During postgraduate year one, residents have ten required and two elective rotations. In postgraduate year two, residents complete four required and eight elective rotations in postgraduate year two. Each rotation is one month in duration. Residents are also given the option to have longitudinal clinic or academic experience throughout the 24-month program.

UIW has over 20 pharmacy practice faculty who precept in a variety of rotation types. In addition, UIW partners with several dynamic and challenging preceptors in the community, including University Health System (UHS), South Texas Veterans Health Care System (STVHCS), Christus Santa Rosa (CSR), and San Antonio Military Medical Center (SAMMC).
