Dr. Witte is a Professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice at the University of the Incarnate Word Feik School of Pharmacy. She received her Pharm.D. degree from The University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy in May 2004. Dr. Witte completed an ASHP-accredited residency in Pharmacy Practice at the South Texas Veterans Health Care System in San Antonio, TX in June 2005 and an ASHP-accredited residency in Primary Care at the South Texas Veterans Health Care System in July 2006. Dr. Witte joined the faculty of the University of the Incarnate Word in the summer of 2006.
Dr. Witte has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications and received several UIW intramural grants funding OSCE research. She has taught immunizations and therapeutics of diabetes and thyroid disorders. In addition, Dr. Witte has precepted students and residents for ambulatory care advanced practice experiences. She has completed the American Pharmacists Association (APhA) immunization and diabetes certificate training programs. Dr. Witte continues to serves as a pharmacy law consultant and was recognized by the US government as a certified expert witness on pharmacy practice-related matters.
Dr. Witte is a member of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP), American Pharmacists Association (APhA), American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP), Texas Society of Health System Pharmacists (TSHP), and Central Texas Society of Health System Pharmacists (CTSHP). Her specialty practice and research interests are in primary care, particularly diabetes.
