Dr. Adeola CokerDr. Adeola Coker is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences. She joined the Feik School of Pharmacy from Human Genome Sciences, Inc., Rockville MD, where she was a Formulation Scientist in the Drug Product Sciences Department. Prior to HGSI, Dr. Coker was in the Sterile Pharmaceutical Products Department of the Schering-Plough Research Institute, Kenilworth, NJ.

Dr. Coker obtained her B.S. in Chemistry and Biology from McPherson College, McPherson, KS and Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, WI. Her doctoral research focused on elucidating the physical basis for DNA recognition in trp repressor-operator interactions. She obtained her post-doctoral training on the biophysical characterization of pharmaceutically relevant proteins, in the Pharmaceutical Chemistry Department of the University of Kansas, Lawrence, KS.

Dr. Coker’s research interests include utilizing Design of Experiments (DoE) in the conformational analysis, formulation development, and characterization of protein therapeutics. She is also interested in developing high-throughput techniques for protein formulation. Dr. Coker is a member of the American Chemical Society, American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists, and American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy.
