Traditional BSN Admissions Requirements

Direct Admit Program

Outstanding first-time freshmen applicants may be eligible for the direct admit option.  Students in this cohort begin nursing courses during their first year. Qualifications for consideration for invitation to the direct admit option include:

• Cumulative high school GPA of 3.5
• Minimum of three years of college preparatory math and science courses (grades considered)
• Combined Math/Verbal SAT of 1100 or ACT of 24
• Interview with nursing faculty (by phone or in person)

Direct admit nursing students must maintain a GPA of 3.0 overall and in the science courses, complete the prerequisite courses successfully, and meet the health requirements to begin clinical coursework in their fourth semester of study. Direct admit students who meet these requirements have a guaranteed place in the nursing program; they complete the program application and HESI exam for tracking purposes only.
