Department of Psychology, DSE, and Bexar County Department of Community Resources present Serving and Supporting Students with Mental Health Issues, their Families, & Schools"
UIW’s Department of Psychology and the Dreeben School of Education, in collaboration with the Bexar County Department of Community Resources, are proud to present a free event to the UIW and San Antonio community, "Serving and Supporting Students with Mental Health Issues, their Families, & Schools," on Saturday, Jan. 18, 6:30-9:30 p.m., Marian Hall Ballroom. This event will include a screening of the documentary film “Who Cares About Kelsey?” and a panel presentation with the filmmaker, Dan Habib, and community counselors and educators about Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports, a school community-based program for encouraging adaptive, prosocial behaviors among students. The program initiates a new county and university collaboration to assist educators in better serving the needs of children who have mental illness and their families. Southland Conference men’s basketball returns to Comcast SportsNet Houston (CSN). The Cardinals’ game against Sam Houston State at home will air live on Thursday, Jan. 23 at 8 p.m. Visit http://www.csnhouston.com/channel-finder for complete channel listings. CSN is the television home for the most games and the most comprehensive coverage of the Houston Astros, Rockets, and Dynamo, and this season will produce and air live a total of five Southland Conference men’s basketball games.

I’m pleased to announce that Mr. Dan Duffy will be joining the University on Jan. 6, 2014 as the vice president for information resources.
Duffy has more than 20 years of experience in higher education technology.He has served several universities as the chief information officer, either as an employee or consultant. Duffy has worked as a consultant with Ellucian and more recently, as a self-employed technology consultant.He has also taught at several universities during his career.
