Mass Cancellation Notice
There will be no noon Mass on Friday, Jan.11 in Our Lady's Chapel. Fr. Tom is participating in the Catholic Campus Ministry Association National Conference in Clearwater, Florida. Noon Mass on Monday, Jan. 14 will also be canceled due to travel and Tuesday, Jan. 15 as Fr. Tom will be holding Mass at the Rosenberg School of Optometry. We are Called by Baptism, Prayer for National Vocation Awareness Week
During National Vocation Awareness Week, we remember Jesus’ baptism where he was called “Beloved Son of God” and we listen to hear God’s call to us. Please join The Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word and Liturgical Outreach for a service of prayer, drama, and music in the Chapel of the Incarnate Word on Wednesday, Jan. 16. Technical Services will be implementing SafeConnect Network Access Control at UIW. SafeConnect allows Technical Servicesto identify and remedy compromised computers, ensuring a safe computing environment for the entire UIW Network.
What: TSS will begin isolated deployments of SafeConnect Network Access Control
Where: SafeConnect will be enabled at the Football Stadium
When: Monday, Jan. 14, 2013
How: The first time you browse the internet you will see the login screen (To view the login page, please click here). You will need your UIW Network username and your password to continue the SafeConnect process.
- You will not be able to access the Internet until you have authenticated with SafeConnect and completed the SafeConnect process.
- Internet access will be enabled once you have successfully completed the SafeConnect process, which ensures your computer meets minimum security requirements.

RSO professor co-authors article published in Experimental Eye Research
Dr. Srihari Narayanan, associate professor and director of cornea and dry eye service at the Rosenberg School of Optometry (RSO), has co-authored a scientific research article titled "Effect of TGF-β on ocular surface epithelial cells.” This article will be published in the journal Experimental Eye Research, Volume 107, February 2013, Pages 88–100.The research was done in collaboration with the IOBA-University of Valladolid, Valladolid, Spain and the Networking Research Center on Bioengineering, Biomaterials and Nanomedicine (CIBER-BBN), Spain.

Headwaters Volunteer Work Day
The Headwaters Coalition is hosting a Volunteer Work Day outdoors in the Headwaters Sanctuary. Come prepared to learn about the Sanctuary and for work in the woods: long pants, long sleeves, and closed-toe shoes. Headwaters volunteers are eligible for off campus community service hours. Plus, getting involved in the Headwaters project is a great way to expand your horizons and get to know more intimately this place we call “home” here at Incarnate Word.
