There will be no noon Mass on Tuesday, Dec. 18 in Our Lady’s Chapel. Fr. Tom will be celebrating mass at the Rosenberg School of Optometry on that day.

Turkey Giveaway Photos

UIW partnered with H-E-B to distribute 1,000 turkeys to full-time undergraduate students and Sodexo and Aramark employees as a special gift of thanks from Dr. Agnese and the university.

December 2012 Commencement
December 2012 Commencement for all candidates for graduation (undergraduate, graduate and professional) will take place on Sunday, Dec. 16 at Joe and Harry Freeman Coliseum, 3201 East Houston, San Antonio, TX. University Mission & Ministry: Angel Tree Sponsorship
University Mission & Ministry is once again sponsoring an Angel Tree for our community members who are in need of assistance this Christmas. The UIW community is invited to consider sponsoring a child or family of children for this holiday season.  If it is a large family you may want to gather a group of people to sponsor the family. The Angel Tree is located in the foyer leading to Our Lady’s Chapel in the Administration Building. It will be displayed through Dec. 18. Please bring items in a holiday bag with the original Angel tag to Mission & Ministry (AD 146 or 147) any time before Wednesday, Dec.  19. Distribution of the items will be Dec. 20 and 21. Dr. Bo Han App 101 SACHS
Dr. Bo Han, instructor of management information systems at UIW, speaks to SACHS students during a “UIW App 101 - Super High” on the SACHS campus on Wednesday, Dec. 12. The purposes of “UIW App 101 - Super High” include: (1) Promoting UIW and upcoming Apple iOS app development classes to perspective students; (2) Motivating high school students’ interest in choosing MIS majors at UIW. During the event, Han introduced the fundamental knowledge of designing mobile apps for the Apple iOS system. Attending students learned how to design a game, “Blocker,” for iOS on the Mac laptop. “UIW App 101 - Super High” will continue to be presented at other UIW top feeder high schools in Spring 2013.

SACHS Athletic Booster Club Tamale Sale
The St. Anthony Catholic High School Athletic Boosters are holding a Tamale Sale for their Holiday Fundraiser. Tamales will be sold by the dozen and will be delivered to SACHS for pick up during finals week Dec. 17-19. The tamales are $8-$8.50 a dozen, choose from pork, jalapeno pork, chicken, or jalapeno chicken. Please send in your tamale orders to SACHS parent John Ramos ( by Thursday, Dec 13. Headwaters Volunteer Opportunities
The Headwaters Coalition is hosting a Volunteer Work Day in the Headwaters Sanctuary on Sat., Dec. 15, 8-11 a.m. Come prepared to learn about the Sanctuary and for work in the woods: long pants, long sleeves, and closed-toe shoes. Headwaters volunteers are eligible for off campus community service hours. Plus, getting involved in the Headwaters project is a great way to expand your horizons and get to know more intimately this place we call “home” here at Incarnate Word.  We’ll meet at the main trailhead behind the baseball fields.
