Christmas Novena
The Incarnate Word Sisters invite you to join them for beautiful ancient song-prayers of preparation for the solemn feast of Christmas in the Chapel of the Incarnate Word. The service lasts about half an hour.The service will be at 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 16, 17, 20, 21, 22, 23. The service will be at 4 p.m. on Dec. 18, 19, 24.

Mass Services
All are welcome.

  • Noon, Monday – Thursday, in Our Lady's Chapel. Less than 30 minutes in consideration of those on their lunch hour
  • Spanish Mass at noon on Fridays in Our Lady's Chapel
  • Sunday Mass at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady's Chapel

Fall Semester Faculty Celebration
Come have some good food, a glass of wine and some fellowship before the Baccalaureate Mass and Graduate Commencement ceremony! The celebration will be from 3:30-5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 11 in the library Special Collections Suite.Scarves will be on sale to help support the Red Dress Fashion Show and Health Fair – Don’t forget to bring your money!

Baccalaureate Mass and Commencement
The Baccalaureate Mass will be celebrated from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 11 in the Convocation Center. There will be three Commencement ceremonies this year. Commencement for graduate and professional programs will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 11 in the Convocation Center. The H-E-B School of Business and Administration and the School of Interactive Media and Design will hold Commencement at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 12 in the Convocation Center. The College of Humanities Arts and Social Sciences, the Dreeben School of Education, the School of Nursing and Health Professions and the School of Math, Science and Engineering will hold Commencement at 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 12 in the Convocation Center.

Employee Christmas Party
The Christmas party for full-time employees will be Sunday, Dec. 13 in the Rosenberg Sky Room. There will be a reception from 6-6:45 p.m., and the seated dinner will begin at 7 p.m. The dance will be from 8-10 p.m.

Bookstore Faculty/Staff Appreciation Day
The bookstore will be holding its annual Faculty/Staff Appreciation event Tuesday, Dec. 15. There will be a 25 percent discount on all regular-priced gifts and clothing. Light refreshments will be served from 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. The discount is available all day. Thanks for all you do throughout the year!

Campus Holiday Lockdown
Campus Police will lockdown the campus Dec. 23 for the holidays. Between Dec. 24 and Jan. 2, the campus gates and facilities will remain locked 24 hours a day.If you have an event scheduled with Campus Police, gates and facilities will be opened one hour prior to an event scheduled on campus. If the gates need to be opened earlier, e-mail Jacob Colunga before Dec. 22.During the times that the gates are closed, the only campus access will be through the Burr Road entrance. Visitors will need to show a valid driver’s license. Anyone who will be entering a building will need UIW ID.

Recycling Report
Congratulations UIW!During November, we collected 3.5 tons of paper.As a result, we saved 60 trees, 15,000 kilowatt hours of energy, 25,000 gallons of water, and 12 cubic yards of landfill.We also eliminated 212 pounds of air pollutants created when making paper from virgin wood pulp.

Christmas Poinsettia Sale
