Mission

Angel Tree
Campus Ministry is again sponsoring an Angel Tree for our community members who are in need of assistance this Christmas. We invite you to consider sponsoring a child or family this holiday season. It is in the foyer leading to Our Lady’s Chapel. Bring items in a holiday bag with the original Angel tag to Campus Ministry any time through Dec. 17. Events

Live Stream for Graduation
All three UIW graduation ceremonies will be available online in real time. To watch the live stream, visit http://support.uiwtx.edu/Homepage/webstreaming.html. Click on Click here for Live Video Stream to open Windows Media Player and start the stream.Live video streaming will begin half an hour before the ceremony begins. The Commencement schedule is as follows:

  • Friday, Dec. 12 at 7:30 p.m.
  • Saturday, Dec. 13 at 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Please note that there will be only one Baccalaureate Mass, to be celebrated at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 12 in the Convocation Center.

A Christmas Carol
The performance will be in the Elizabeth Huth Coates Theatre. Tickets cost $10 for adults, $8 for non-UIW students and $9 for seniors. UIW students, faculty and staff receive one free ticket with ID. All the proceeds from the production will go to the Halligan-Ibbs Scholarship Endowment. For reservations, call 829-3800. Performance dates and times:

  • Friday, Dec. 12 at 8 p.m.
  • Thursday, Dec. 18 at 7 p.m.
  • Friday, Dec. 19 at 8 p.m.
  • Saturday, Dec. 20 at 2 p.m.
  • Saturday, Dec. 20 at 8 p.m.

Christmas Party
There will be a reception for full-time employees in the Rosenberg Sky Room from 6-6:45 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 14, and the seated dinner will begin promptly at 7 p.m. The dance will be from 8-10 p.m. RSVPs were due on Tuesday. Anyone who attends without an RSVP will be seated on a space-available basis.

Department News

Payroll Reminder
Because of the Christmas holiday schedule, all employees will be paid Dec. 22. December leave requests for administrators must be in the payroll office no later than Dec. 15.

High Schools

IWHS Madrigals and Madrigal Alumnae
The Incarnate Word High School Madrigals and Madrigal Alumnae present “Warmth, Joy, Family, Friends,” an evening of Christmas music to benefit the Roger Labat Scholarship Fund. The concert will be at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 22 in the Chapel of the Incarnate Word. Tickets cost $8 and can be purchased at the door. All proceeds benefit the scholarship fund. St. Anthony Catholic High School

  • The John JG Gonzales Wellness Center will be dedicated Sunday, Dec. 14 immediately following Mass, which begins at 10:30 a.m.

Miscellaneous

Box Top Collection
St. Peter Prince of the Apostles Elementary School is participating in the Box Tops for Education program. If you would like to donate Box Tops to help St. Peter earn money, send box tops to the Registrar’s Office, in AD 129 or through campus mail at CPO 304, attention Giana S. Gomez. The collection will continue through the end of the school year at St. Peter and then pick up again when school begins again in the fall.
