Mission

Donate School Supplies
Ready to get rid of binders, school supplies, school clothes? Please don’t throw them out! Share them with students at Mexicano Centro Cristiano para los Sordos. Each year, a Texas mission team presents Vacation Bible School at this private Christian school for deaf children in Mexico. The Texas mission team will be delivering supplies to the school June 21. Donations will be accepted at Campus Ministry in the Chapel Building until June 19. For more information, please contact mission team member Rachel Cywinski at Cywinski@uiwtx.edu. Las Vegas Night with the Cardinals
The event will be today from 7-11 p.m. in the Rosenberg Sky Room. For more information, call the Athletics Department at 829-2722.

Admissions Campus Visit Day
Campus visit day will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 17 in the Library Auditorium.

UIW Summer Basketball Camp
The 2008 summer basketball camp is about to get started. If you know anyone who is interested, please let them know. The camp is available for children in 1st through 11th grade. There will be a 10 percent discount offered to UIW employees. Space is limited. The schedule and prices are below:

1st session: June 30 – July 3
2nd session: July 7 – July 11

Morning camp: 9 a.m. – Noon for $110
Afternoon camp: 1 – 4 p.m. for $110

All-day camp schedule:
1st Session: 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. for $130
2nd Session: 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. for $165
Two-Week Special All Day for $225

Camp check-in will be the morning of camp from 7:30-8:45 a.m. Camp will be dismissed on the final day of the second session at noon. There is a $25 processing fee for cancellations. Campers should bring a bag lunch, but a concession stand will be available. Application and health forms are necessary. Free camp t-shirts will be provided to early registered campers. Last 2008 Financial Assistance Saturday Session
The last Financial Assistance Saturday Session will be from 1-3 p.m. May 17 in the Conference Hall at the ICC. Students will have the opportunity to pick up 2008-2009 financial aid application forms, find out about resources like scholarships, loans, work, and grants, complete the free application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), and review costs for the academic year. A presentation will be given during the first hour and the remaining time will be open for questions.

San Antonio Virtual Environments for Education andTraining Conference
The first conference will be held to explore howeducational institutions and businesses in San Antonio are using or are planning to use "Second Life" and other multi-user virtual environments (MUVEs) for education and training. The conference will be from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Tuesday, May 20 inUIW's Rosenberg Sky Room. All interested faculty,students andadministratorsare welcome! Instructional Technology Summer Training Schedule 2008
The free training classes are offered to faculty and staff by reservation only and seating is limited. All classes begin at 8:30 a.m. and end at 12:30 p.m. The Podcasting and Photoshop Elements sessions will be in room G16 of the Mabee Library. All other sessions will take place in Room 230 of the Mabee Library. Make reservations via e-mail to: tpeak@uiwtx.edu. At least five participants must register for each session in order for the session to take place. Please contact Terry or Adela if you are unable to attend a session so that we can offer your seat to someone else.

Weight Watchers at Work
At least 15 participants are needed for a 13 week series of classes for a Weight Watchers group in Health Services. The cost is $156 with a payment option of three $52 checks. If you are interested in participating this summer, call Terri Sosa at ext. 3126 or e-mail tsosa@uiwtx.edu.

ICC Parking Lot closed
The parking lot at the ICC should be avoided for the next couple of weeks because of construction in the area. Drivers can go from the 281 entrance to the main campus, but not to the ICC. The ICC can be accessed by entering at the Hildebrand entrance.

Print Shop Hours
The Print Shop/Copy Center’s summer hours of operation will be from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.Printing Services will resume its regular hours at the beginning of the fall semester.

Bookstore Summer Hours
The bookstore’s summer hours until Aug. 2 are Monday – Friday from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. The bookstore will be closed on Saturday and Sunday.

Marian Hall Café summer hours
The Café in Marian Hall will be open with limited services for summer. Hours and services may be increased when summer classes begin and as summer camps arrive.

Saturday and Sunday: May 17, 18
Brunch: 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Dinner: 5 – 6:30 p.m.

Monday through Friday until May 23
Breakfast: 8 – 10 a.m.
Lunch: 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
Dinner: 5 – 7 p.m.

Raffle at St. Anthony Catholic School
St. Anthony Catholic School is holding a $10,000 raffle on Friday, May 16 at their PTC Picnic to be held from 6-9 p.m.Tickets cost $100 each, and the drawing will be limited to 300 tickets. You do not need to be present to win. Tickets are available for purchase after school, at the school office (205 W. Huiscahe) or by calling Lucy Gonzales at 732-8801 ext. 120.

Saint Peter Prince of Apostle School Summer Camp
