Emerging Leaders Class Projects
The Fall 2007 Emerging Leaders class will present their community service semester project today in the Marian Hall Ballroom at 1 p.m. Examples of projects include: planting a garden on campus, raising money to send children to camp, working at the Villages of the Incarnate Word, mentoring students at Rhodes Middle School, and participating in the Camp Darfur overnight experience. Please join us. You will receive Monopoly money to “donate” to the best project.
Christmas Concert
The UIW Chorale and Madrigals will present their annual Christmas concert at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 2, in Our Lady’s Chapel. The free concert will feature the well-loved “Magnificat” by John Rutter. For information, call 829-3848.
Guitar Hero Face-Off
UIW presents the first Guitar Hero Face-Off. Practice trials will be at Waffle Mania, which begins at 8 p.m. Dec. 2. Then sign up for the face-off on Jan. 18 in Marian Hall cafeteria. The time will be announced as the event approaches. The grand prize is a $100 meal card.

The university thanked its service workers at the Aramark recognition luncheon.
Children’s Plays
As a final project in the Children's Theatre class, two one-act plays were presented in the Cheever Theater on Wednesday. First-graders from Bonham Charter School were the guests for the plays,which are original adaptations of two favorite children's books, Where the Wild Things Are and The Stinky Cheese Man.
The Cardinals football uniforms were unveiled on Nov. 17 in the Coates Theater. The unveiling was the first time the official UIW football uniforms were seen in public.

Ray Ríos and the Danza Azteca de Yanaguana danced on Wednesday as a final event for Native American Heritage Month.
Students picked up their tickets, caps and gowns at the Graduation Finale on Thursday.

Volunteers rolled meatballs and prepared silverware on Wednesday for the President’s Spaghetti Dinner.
UIW employees served students pasta, drinks and dessert at the annual President’s Spaghetti Dinner on Thursday evening.

Rave Emergency Text Messaging Test
UIW officials will conduct a test of the Rave emergency text messaging system at about 10 a.m. today. Those who have signed up for this service will receive a test notification via text message and e-mail. Beetle Raffle Canceled
Despite their best efforts, Campus Ministry was unable to meet the fundraising goal with the car raffle scheduled for Nov. 30. Calls are being made to all ticket holders and a full refund is being offered.
The students are still planning their pilgrimage to World Youth Day 2008 in Sydney, Australia. Donations for the trip are being accepted, and there will be more fundraising events during the spring semester. Please call Campus Ministry at 829-2736 if you have questions or to confirm your information if you are a ticket holder. Many thanks to all who supported this fundraising effort.
2008 Synchronized Swimming Calendars
The Synchronized Swimming Team is selling its 2008 calendar for only $5 to students and faculty and $7 to the public. These calendars make great holiday gifts. If you have any questions, call Head Coach Kim LoPorto or her graduate assistant, Erin Murphy, at ext. 2796. They are located in the Barshop Natatorium in Room 107. Happy Holidays!
Volleyball Fundraiser
The UIW volleyball team is holding a fundraiser with help from Delicious Tamales. Orders will be taken until Nov. 30. The tamales will be delivered from 6-9 p.m. Dec. 12 during the men’s basketball game. Tamale choices are pork, jalapeño and bean, and cost $6 a dozen.
