Faith and Service Gathering
The Faith and Service Gathering, “A Place at the Table,” will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 10, at 6:00-8:30 p.m. in the Marian Hall Ballroom. Rev. Get Out the Vote! Campaign representatives and party officials promoted candidates while students promoted voter registration on Wednesday, Oct. 4, during this year’s Constitution Day event: “Get Out the Vote,” sponsored by the Political Science Department.
Hall of Fame Celebration
The UIW Athletic Hall of Fame has four new inductees: former Incarnate Word student-athletes Tim Chestney (soccer, 1993-1997), Brooke Hopkins (soccer, 1998-2001), and Javier Ruiz (tennis, 1994-998) and athletic physician Dr. Ralph (Bud) Curtis. You are invited to celebrate their induction this Sunday, Oct. 8, at 4:00 p.m. in the Sky Room. There will also be silent and live auctions. Cost is $25 a person; tickets are available through the Athletic Department or at the door on Sunday. This gala precedes the Department’s annual golf tournament fundraiser on Monday, Oct. 9, at the Hyatt Hill Country Resort.

Banner Outage Impact
The Business Office will stop processing petty cash, and check cashing on Tuesday, Oct.10, at 5:00 p.m. Please process any transactions prior to close of business on Tuesday. The Office will resume processing transactions on Monday, Oct. 16, at 8:00 a.m. with resumption of Banner service.
In addition, there will be no check production by Accounts Payable after 12:00 noon on Wednesday, Oct. 11. Be sure all payment requests are submitted to Accounts Payable no later than Monday, Oct. 9, at 5:00 p.m. Please plan travel requests accordingly. Documentation relative to issuing purchase orders should also be submitted to the Purchasing Department no later than Tuesday, Oct.10, by 5:00 p.m. Check production should resume the week of Oct. 16. SGA Canned Food Drive
The Student Government Association (SGA) is holding its 20th Annual Golden Harvest canned food drive for charities. University offices can request a “Cardinal Crate” to collect canned food from Oct. 9-Oct. 20. Crates will be collected on Oct. 19. UIW Welcomes New Legal Counsel
Cynthia Escamilla will be joining the university’s senior administrative team as Legal Counsel starting Monday, Oct. 9. Cyndi has more than 15 years of legal experience, most recently with USAA where she served as senior counsel in enterprise litigation. Reminder: Banner Service Outage Scheduled
The Technology Department will conduct a major upgrade of Banner software between Wednesday, Oct. 11 at 5:00 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 15 at 11:00 p.m. During this period, Banner services will not be available to UIW clients. The new version of Banner will be available on Monday, Oct. 16. For individual users, the new version will require a new software download to your desktop or laptop. Flu Shot Clinic
Flu shots will be available to the UIW community and its family members on Oct. 9 and Oct. 11 from 9:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. and on Oct.10 from 9:00-11:00 a.m.The clinic will be held in the Nursing Building, second floor. Cinderella Runs through Oct. 8
A restaging of Ronald Ibbs’ British pantomime vision of Cinderella begins this Saturday, Sept. 30, at 12:00 and 2:00 p.m. in the Coates theatre. Banner 7 Software Available for Download
Are you ready to use Banner 7 starting Monday, Oct.16? You might need to upgrade. To run Banner 7, you’ll need special software called Java Runtime Environment (JRE). If you are a Banner user, you should install JRE on your computer before Monday, Oct. 16. Note: If you only use BannerWeb, you do not need to install JRE. A tutorial is available on the Information Management Services website: http://support.uiwtx.edu/InformationMgmt/Tutorials/index.html.

Follow the directions to install the Java software.
