San Antonio – For the fourth year in a row, the University of the Incarnate Word (UIW) has been listed as a military friendly school by G.I. Jobs, the premier magazine for military personnel transitioning into civilian life. UIW ranks in the top 15% of all colleges, universities and trade schools nationwide as doing the most to embrace America’s military service members and veterans as students.
“UIW is proud to be recognized for the important work we do for our military students for the fourth consecutive year,” said Dr. Cyndi Wilson Porter, vice president for extended academic programs. “We recognize the sacrifices made by the men and women in military service for our freedoms and are dedicated to ensuring they get a quality, affordable and convenient educational experience.”
Schools on the military friendly list have demonstrated a strong interest in recruiting and retaining military students by the programs offered and the services made available to military personnel and their families. The G.I. Jobs website, www.militaryfriendlyschools.com, features a list of military friendly schools, interactive tools and search functionality to assist military veterans with their school decisions.
