UIW School of Business Launches iPad Pilot Program

In late August, the UIW H-E-B School of Business and Administration launched the only iPad Pilot Program for college students in San Antonio.  International Business graduate students received an iPad and will begin integrating the technology in their coursework.

“This launch of the iPad is an extension of UIW’s continued innovation in technology application in the classroom. I began the analysis on campus for the launch of the laptop program several years ago, and am gratified that UIW is now exploring what the iPad can provide for our students. At the end of this year-long pilot program, UIW will determine how the iPad might be integrated into the entire curriculum for all students,” said Pat LeMay Burr, UIW Distinguished Chair, International Business.

The iPads are provided for student use at no cost.  Students will be experimenting with productivity applications, cloud file sharing, interactive databases and wireless printing in the classroom.  Students will also provide feedback about how the iPad should be integrated into all of UIW’s classes.
