Major Requirements for the Bachelor of Music in Music Education
(92-93 credit hours in Music, 30 hours in Education)
The student combines the Bachelor of Music in Music Education with a minor
in All Level Education. This degree may require up to ten semesters of
study and results in all-level teacher certification at the undergraduate level.
A. 34-5 semester hours of music theory and history:

7 semester hours of Chorale, Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, or Jazz Ensemble
*May be exempted by passing the Piano Proficiency
C. Recital
Students seeking a B.M. in Music Education will perform a recital on their principal instrument during the third or fourth year of their private instruction. See Recital Policies below, and the private instruction course syllabus for specifics.
