What are the Sacraments of Initiation? The Sacraments of Initiation are those Sacraments that bring a person into membership in the Church.  They include Baptism, Confirmation, and the Holy Eucharist. (United States Catholic Catechism for Adults, p. 527)

Who can be confirmed? Anyone who has been baptized into the Catholic Church and has received their first Holy Communion.

What if I was baptized into the Catholic Church but have not made my First Holy Communion? You may participate in the Confirmation classes and prepare for your First Holy Communion at the same time.

What do I need to do to attend Confirmation Classes? First contact our Chaplain, Fr. Tom Dymowski.  He will help you determine where you are at in your faith formation and what documentation and other information you will need to obtain in order to prepare for and complete your sacraments.

When will I be confirmed? UIW participates in the Intercollegiate Confirmation celebration in the spring semester sponsored by the Archdiocese of San Antonio. The celebration usually takes place the Sunday before Ash Wednesday each year. The exact date will be given to you once you are enrolled in classes.

You may reach Fr. Tom at 210-829-3131 or dymowski@uiwtx.edu.
