By-Laws on Advisory Board Meetings-
“Meetings of the CMTR Advisory Board (hereafter called the Board) will take place annually at the CMTR Medical Tourism Research Conference (first quarter of every year) and quarterly by conference call (scheduled by the Director approximately two months in advance). An update of CMTR activities will be available to the board members prior to each board meeting (developed and sent by the CMTR Director).”
By-Laws on Advisory Board Service, Elections & Limitations-
“CMTR Advisory Board members will be elected by a simple majority vote of the current board members. Board members will serve in their capacity for a three (3) year term and have the ability to run for re-election for an unlimited number of times. CMTR Board members should be influential members of the health, wellness, medical, dental, travel, spa, hospitality, or otherwise aligned community that has an interest in the research on travel of people for healthcare-services. Potential CMTR Board members will be submitted to the CMTR Board on an annual basis in the fourth quarter of every year for possible inclusion at the Annual Conference. The Board will have no less than eight (8) members and no more than twenty (20) at any given time. The CMTR Board will take an active role in helping the CMTR in its pursuit of knowledge and research around the field of health, wellness, medical, dental, and retirement tourism. The CMTR Board will be primarily involved in the advising around governance and strategic issues of the CMTR. No member of the CMTR Board will be the executive officer or otherwise actively managing a membership organization (meaning an organization that is profit or non-profit that actively seeks new members that pay dues for membership).”
By-Laws on Establishing the Chairman’s Council-
“The Chairman’s Council (hereafter referred to as the Council) will be a group of advisors to the Chairman and Director of the CMTR that contribute to the research and activities of the CMTR. The Council will be influential members of the health, wellness, medical, dental, travel, spa, hospitality, or otherwise aligned community that has an interest in the research on travel of people for healthcare-services that are selected by the Chairman and are not members of the CMTR Advisory Board. The CMTR Council will be primarily involved in the advising around operational and research issues of the CMTR. No member of the CMTR Council will be the executive officer or otherwise actively managing a membership organization (meaning an organization that is profit or non-profit that actively seeks new members that pay dues for membership).”
By-Laws on Affiliate Members-
“Affiliate Members (hereafter referred to as Affiliates) will be a group of members that have a relationship with the CMTR that contribute to the research and activities of the CMTR. The Affiliates will be influential members of the health, wellness, medical, dental, travel, spa, hospitality, or otherwise aligned community that has an interest in the research on travel of people for healthcare-services that are selected by the Director and are not members of the CMTR Advisory Board. The CMTR Council will be primarily involved in partnering with the CMTR on research, education, and thought leadership projects. Executive officer and others who are otherwise actively managing a membership organization (meaning an organization that is profit or non-profit that actively seeks new members that pay dues for membership) will be encouraged to be affiliate members.”
