The University of the Incarnate Word Master of Biomedical Sciences Admissions Committee reviews applicants holistically taking into consideration academic history, leadership qualities and service to the community among other things.

Admissions Checklist

Online MBS Supplemental Program Application

Complete the MBS Program Supplemental Application.

Online UIW Graduate Admissions Application

Complete the UIW Graduate Admissions Application

 

Application Fee

Submit $50 non-refundable supplemental application fee online.

 

Official College Transcript(s)

Submit official transcript(s) from all colleges and universities attended directly to the UIW Office of Admissions.

Pre-professional exam scores based on intended professional discipline:

  • MCAT - PreMed
  • DAT - Dental
  • GRE - Physician Assistant, Physcial Therapy, Pharmacy

(Other Pre-professional exam as appropriate)

Submit official test scores by using GRE code 6303.

MCAT scores (with validation code) should be printed and mailed directly to the UIW Graduate Admissions Office.

Letters of Recommendation

Three letters of recommendation should be submitted in a signed-sealed envelope directly to the UIW Graduate Admissions Office.  At least one reference letter should be submitted by a faculty member and one from a health care provider.

Committee letters are accepted and will be considered as one of the three required letters. 


Prerequisite College Courses

Prerequisite coursework must be taken from an accredited college or university.  Prerequisites must be completed with a grade of “C” or better.  A minimum science and cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on 4.0 scale must be achieved.

**Human Physiology or Anatomy & Physiology II - required only for students seeking Physician Assistant, Pharmacy, and Physical Therapy pathways.  (Recommended for students seeking medical school entry) 

***Organic Chemistry II - required only for student seeking medical, dental, or veterinary school entry

^Physics - 8 semester credit hours required only for student seeking medical, dental, or veterinary school entry
