Learning Assistance Center

Mission

LAC Mission Statement

To assist UIW undergraduate students in a successful progression toward graduation through the delivery of services in our tutoring, testing, study hall and supplemental instruction programs.

General Description

Students can take advantage of our drop-in tutoring services for individuals and groups. Tutors recommended by professors assist their peers in a range of subjects that students typically find challenging.

Testing services include exams for course credit (CLEP, DSST, and Computer Competency), professors' exams, ADA accommodations, and various national entrance and certification exams. All exams are offered by appointment only.

Study Hall provides a structured, quiet time for students to dedicate to their assignments.

P.A.S.S (Peer Assisted Study Sessions) is UIW's modified supplemental instruction program. Students attend weekly sessions to review concepts and learn subject-specific study skills with a trained leader who works closely with the course professor.
