Welcome to the Kinesiology Program

The Kinesiology Program is for individuals interested in promoting positive exercise, physical activity, and health and wellness behaviors in children and adults. The program of study prepares students for three career paths (Exercise Science, Coaching and Leadership and Physical Education Teacher Certification).

Graduates of the program have found employment as physical educators in elementary and secondary private and public schools and universities. Graduates may also prepare for work in the private sector in camps and fitness centers by choosing a non-certification or personal trainer concentration. Graduates have also gained employment at public and private institutions like Boys and Girls Clubs, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and the Food Bank.

UIW Kinesiology alumni have also found employment in a variety of fields to include physical educators, coaches, personal trainers, professional sport management, military, law enforcement, occupational therapists, physical therapists and professional athletes. Many undergraduate alumni also pursue graduate degrees in Kinesiology, Sport Management, Business, Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy.
