UIW Intramural Guidelines and Procedures

Participation

Faculty, staff, administration, and students of the University of the Incarnate Word are eligible for participation in any intramural activity. Participants must be currently enrolled or employed at the University during the current semester of the league or tournament which they want to participate in. To be eligible, Co-Ed teams must have two females participating. Students may only be allowed to play on one team, and cannot switch or play with other teams under no cimrumstance.

 

Sports Rules

The rules for each sport will be made available to all participants before the competition in that sport begins. The rules will be attached along with the Team Packet that each team captain either picks up in the Wellness Center or downloads off the internet. The Intramural Sports Program reserves the right to institute any rule change and will notify team captains in a timely manner. Modifications will be made to adjust for risk, space, time, and number of participants. The team captain must make sure that he/she reads the rules correctly and explains them to their team before competition begins in order to avoid confusion of any rule. Supervisors will be on the site of events with rule book in hand in case a rule is being discussed and needs further clarification.
