Title IX Compliance

Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 is a federal law that prohibits sex discrimination in education. It reads:
"No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance."

Sex discrimination includes sexual harassment and sexual assault.

Title IX Coordinator

Duties and Responsibilities: Monitoring and oversight of overall implementation of Title IX Compliance at the University, including coordination of training, education, communications, and supervision of the grievance procedures for faculty, staff, students and other members of the University community. May serve as first point of contact for student complaints.

Title IX Investigators

Duties and Responsibilities: Responsible for administration and investigation of all Title IX matters involving students, including training, education, communication and administration of the grievance/judicial procedure. Title IX regulations require Investigators to report incidents whether resolved informally or formally to the Title IX Coordinator. These reports allow the Title IX Coordinator to identify patterns of frequency in a particular area within the University and to coordinate compliance with federal regulations.
