Residence Life is excited for Fall Move In! Please select one of the following to review your move in procedures:
**Meal Plan Change Link**
**Housing Application Update**
All students who are filling out an application will be stopped at Step 5, "Housing Preferences." You will not be able to select a hall preference, roommate, or meal plan at this point. You will be manually assigned a bed space by our department. Your application WILL state "incomplete," as you have not received an assignment at this time. Your Housing Portal will have the most up-to-date information concerning your assignment.
In order to be eligible for manual assignment, you must have a $225 housing deposit on file, a meningitis immunization record on file, and an application with a signed (either electronic or e-mail) Occupancy Agreement.
If you are experiencing an issue logging in to our housing portal, please contact the UIW Help Desk at 210-829-2721 or toll free at 1-866-614-5043. Please remember the log in credentials used to access your e-mail are the same to access the Housing Portal.
**ATTENTION UPPERCLASSMAN APPLICANTS**
At this time, we have reached our housing capacity. You may apply for housing and will be placed on a waiting list for our off campus housing location. We continue to make assignments to on-campus housing as spaces become available, with priority being given to students who live outside of the city and the state Texas.
If you do NOT wish to be considered for off campus housing you may cancel your application using the link below. You deposit will be refunded at 100% until July 31st, 2015.
We will be sending the logistical information regarding the off campus location as soon as it is available.
The Office of Residence Life at UIW hopes to offer campus housing options that will compliment your total educational experience. You are encouraged to review the Residence Hall section to discover which option will best fit your lifestyle.
All of our campus housing is processed through the housing portal. First, review the application checklist to ensure all requirements have been fulfilled. Then, proceed to the housing portal to begin your housing application.
On-campus housing is a very popular option, especially among first-year students. As soon as you are a confirmed student, you are encouraged to submit your housing application. Priority for room selection will be based on the date your housing deposit is received.
Housing applications are accepted on a rolling deadline; however, students are encouraged to consult the housing process dates on the housing portal to determine when each step of the process is recommended to be completed.
Some residence halls are more popular with returning students than others, so the number of available spaces for new students will vary by hall. For upper-class housing, returning residence hall students will have priority in the room assignment process. First year students will have the opportunity to select their room during the application process. Any students who have applied for housing, but miss the opportunity for room selection, will have their room assigned by the Office of Residence Life according to room availability and the room preferences designated on the housing application.
If you prefer to live with a specific person, please search for them by screen name during the Roommate Selection Step of the housing application process. Roommates may need to be broken up if there are no rooms available to accommodate the request.
Please note that a room cannot be selected in the housing application process until the $225 housing deposit has been received and proof of the meningitis immunization has been submitted.
