Honors Student Board

The Student Board is the liaison between the honors students, the Honors Director and the Honors Council. The six members are voted by their peers to one-year terms. The Student Board for the 2012-2013 academic year are:

Robert Gonzalez, Meetings and Student Government Coordinator

Robert is a sophomore biology/government double major. This is Robert's first year on the Student Board, but he's an ambitious young man and he will give us great representation with student government..

Victoria Cooremans, Service Coordinator

Victoria is a junior psychology/biology double major and a finalist for the 2012 Kemper Scholarship. She is a dynamo coordinating multiple programs at Haven for Hope (San Antonio's umbrella organization serving the homeless), the SAMMinistries housing, Habitat for Humanity, San Antonio State Hospital, Clarity Guidance Center and much more. Victoria makes sure that everyone is kept busy as much as they want.

Alfred Mejia, Events Coordinator

Alfred, a junior art major, is the "idea man." Bursting with suggestions for getting the group together, Alfred was a shoo-in for the Events Coordinator position. Somewhat a rarity among creatives, Alfred is also organized. All the better for everyone to schedule his great events.

Tin Nguyen, Recruiting Coordinator

Tin, a biochemistry/psychology double major, is another bundle of energy. You'll see Tin at just about all our recruiting events and he also helps with our freshman orientation. Anjli Patel, Publicity Coordinator

Sophomore Anjli may be a vision science major but she's interested in communication. As Publicity Coordinator she will have plenty of opportunity to do just that. She works closely with the other Board members to make sure that people know what's going on and how to get involved.

Trevor Steele, Special Programs Coordinator

Trevor is a senior biology major who was one of the charter coordinators of the kids sports program at Haven for Hope. Trevor has been highly active in a multitude of programs such as the Capital One Leadership Development Program, the Headwaters Coalition, and our own recruiting efforts. He took on this position on the Student Board to help steer the Honors Program in the right direction with interesting and relevant programming.
