Honors Program

Special Honors Only Overnight Weekend

Sunday, February 10- Monday, February 11, 2013

Learn more about UIW’s Honors Program by getting up close and personal with honors students and faculty.  There's no better way to know what the program has to offer than to get a taste for yourself.

  1. Spend the night on campus with current UIW honors students
  2. Meet honors faculty and members of the Honors Council
  3. Attend classes including one honors class
  4. Get in your honors application interview
  5. Talk to Study Abroad and Financial Aid personnel

Schedule

  • Check in at 4:00 p.m. Sunday at the Marian Hall Student Center.
  • Sunday night: Reception, dinner and recreational activities It's the Asian New Year so we're going to celebrate!
  • Monday: Your student host will escort you to classes and show you the campus. You may choose schedule meetings with faculty or coaches or attend a campus tour during free times (see itemized schedule under Required Forms below).
  • Lunch with Honors Program Director and reps from Study Abroad and Financial Aid.
  • Participation in a group interview for those who have submitted an honors application
  • Check out between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. Monday depending on classes and meetings.

Registration

Registration can be made online. There is no fee for qualified honors student candidates. We must receive your registration by Sunday, February 3 to secure your place. We are unable to accommodate late registrants or walk-ins. If you wish to participate in the group interview, have your application forms sent in by Wednesday, February 6.

If you are unable to attend the orientation after registering, please call 210-832-3211 or email jloden@uiwtx.edu as soon as possible so we can allow someone else to attend in your place. Space is limited!
