SAN ANTONIO – The fall Networking Reception and Career Fair was held Sept. 28 in the Rosenberg Skyroom. 178 students attended the event to network with 41 companies and learn about exciting career opportunities.
The event was hosted by the H-E-B School of Business & Administration, the Accounting Society, the Business Club and Career Services. UIW President Dr. Thomas Evans started the evening off with a welcome message to the students and employers.
Dr. Trish Driskill, faculty advisor to the Accounting Club, said the career fair was a great success.
“The Fall 2017 Networking Reception and Career Fair turned out to be a productive event for both our students and the firms attending. This event was a great opportunity for our students to network with future employers and build their personal skills. Several students indicated that the event led to an interview or call back in the near future. The networking event enabled freshmen to build their confidence in speaking with firm representatives, opened doors for soon-to-be graduates, and allowed all students access to several successful companies in the San Antonio region,” Dr. Driskill said.
The H-E-B School of Business & Administration would like to thank the students and employers who attended. The school would also like to thank the officers of the Accounting Society and Business Club, as well as Career Services and the Skyroom staff, for their efforts in organizing and hosting the event.
The spring Networking Reception and Career Fair is scheduled for Tuesday, March 27, 2018, and will be held in the Rosenberg Skyroom. Additional details for the event will be released at a later date.
