B.B.A./Accounting (ACCT)
Accounting is the means by which business transactions and events are analyzed, recorded, presented, and interpreted for various interested parties. The curriculum is designed to develop administrative decision-making skills and to prepare students for careers in accounting with public accounting firms, business firms, governmental units, and other nonprofit organizations.

To fulfill the requirements for award of the accounting concentration, the student must complete:
A. 18 semester hours of required accounting courses:
ACCT 3311 Intermediate Accounting I
ACCT 3312 Intermediate Accounting II
ACCT 3313 Cost Accounting
ACCT 3315 Federal Income Tax I
ACCT 4311 Advanced Accounting
ACCT 4314 Auditing
B. 3 semester hours selected from:
ACCT 3316 Federal Income Tax II
ACCT 3317 Accounting Systems
ACCT 3318 Fraud Examination
ACCT 3345 International Accounting
ACCT 4313 Accounting for Non-Profit and Government Entities
C. 3 additional semester hours in upper division (3000/4000) accounting courses.
Note: A total of 150 semester hours including 30 hours in accounting beyond ACCT 2311 and ACCT 2312, plus an additional 3 semester hours in an approved course in ethics for eligibility after July 1, 2005, are required to sit for the CPA Examination in Texas.
